Happy, Happy Mother's Day!!

Mothers_day_2008_003

I hope you are all having a wonderful Mother's day!

I just returned from our little Mother's day get away and it was as wonderful as always except we did miss our regular cabin. I thought I would share a few photos with you.

My youngest daughter made these adorable cupcakes for us to take on our trip. Aren't they cute? They were just as yummy as they are cute! She loves to bake and has since she was little! The flower cups are her newest addition to her collection of bakeware. They are silicone flowers, so cute!

Mothers_day_2008_009 I found this fabulous vintage basket right before we left which was perfect to haul some of the craft kits in. I was in charge of crafts. :0) Isn't this basket fabulous?!

We did several different things, but I have only taken photos of a couple so far.

Mothers_day_2008_008

Mothers_day_2008_035 We made these little Mother's collages, they still need their "hangers" as I forgot the bead chain, but they were fun to do.

Mothers_day_2008_011

Mothers_day_2008_016 Love these cups from Anthropolgie I ordered for everyone!

Mothers_day_2008_037 This beautiful art is a gift from my oldest daughter! I love it sooo much. (my photo does not do it justice!)

Mothers_day_2008_025

Mothers_day_2008_032

Mothers_day_2008_026 And here's the beautiful ladies in my life, my Momma and my Grandma. (my aunt did not end up showing up this year)

I just have to take a moment to tell you how amazing my Momma is. When I was growing up, she was always a wonderful Mother. She has always encouraged me in every single thing I have attempted and she is truly my biggest fan. She is very much my best friend!

But not only did she raise my brother and I, but now in the time of her life that she should be traveling and living it up, life made a turn and she is now raising my niece and nephew. She also takes care of my Grandma and Grandpa as much as possible. She takes all of this in and stays so strong in her faith and handles it the very best she knows how. I don't even know how she does it. My niece and nephew exhaust me after only a weekend! She is such an amazing lady and I hope she knows just how very much I love her!

I hope you are all enjoying your day, no matter what you're doing!

Head on over to Analise's blog to view all of the ladies participating in Show & Tell, they're all talking about Mother's day this week, and check back with me tomorrow for next Sunday's theme.

Much love, Cerri xoxo

A Shop Announcement

Lps_2008_2_125 Thank you all for participating in yesterday's Show & Tell! (and thank you so much for the well wishes, I am feeling mostly better today thankfully) My daughter completed her 5k run yesterday and we are really proud of her for that, it was an important accomplishment for her!

You can head over to Analise's blog for next weeks theme, as she will be your host on Mother's day!

Lps_2008_2_282 I will be heading out of town on Wednesday this week for my annual Mother's day retreat! I am really, really looking forward to it! We are staying in a new "cabin" this year, so I am hoping it is as wonderful as the one we usually stay in! Regardless of the cabin though, I know we will have a wonderful time! We always do. I cherish these little get aways with my Mom, Aunt and Gram.

Lps_2008_2_169 All orders placed from the 6th-11th will ship right after the weekend. On May 13th, my etsy store will close while I prepare everything for the opening of The Little Pink Studio web boutique! The website is complete and now I just have to get everything ready! I am very excited and will be sharing more about that in the upcoming weeks. I am shooting for an end of May Grand Opening!

Lps_2008_2_274 My etsy shop will reopen, but it will reopen as Pink Studio Vintage. I will be sharing with you all of the fun treasures I find along the way as well as a few other things. Most regular LPS items will move to the website.

Lps_2008_2_271 So, if you have been wanting to order something, now is the time! All orders placed this week will receive free gifts as I clear out and make room for the new!

Have a wonderful week!

Much love, Cerri xo

Show us your favorite shop!

Lps_2008_095 Welcome to another Show & Tell Sunday! This weeks topic is to show us your favorite place you find your treasures, whether it be an antique shop, thrift store, flea market, etc.

As I told you in my last post I had great plans for the weekend. As it turns out I got VERY sick in the middle of the night Friday and so was unable to go help out at the store today! We also had horrible thunder storms for the first part of the day, so I know that delayed things for them. I don't even know how the day ended up...SO, I will have to let you all know about that when I know. I don't have many photos to show you as I was going to take photos of the shop today. The owner Sherri, did an amazing job getting her store ready and her store really is fabulous so I will show you just as soon as I can get over there and get some great photos. I've shown you this photo before, but it's a sweet little scene in her shop so I'll show you again.

Lps_too_009 I'll show you a couple of shots from my booth when I was first setting it up before Easter. It's a lot fuller now, but I don't have photos yet, so I will just show you a couple of little shots.

Lps_too_020

Lps_too_026 I have this large iron plant holder that curls like a spiral staircase and on it I have placed several pink pots full of products each with a little sign saying what they are and how much they are.

(obviously I don't still have Easter bunnies in the shop, but they looked so cute peeking out of their pot at Easter I thought you would like to see)

Lps_too_027

Lps_too_031

Lps_too_021 I have made little descriptive signs for lots of products in my booth too since not everyone in the world may "get it" like all of you. :0)

I will show you more updated photos of my booth and the entire store asap! Sorry they are from Easter still.

So on with your list! I am not feeling well at all still and my daughter is running a 5k race today, so I may be a little slow at adding names today. Be patient with me please. If you're in a hurry, just read the comments as that is where I get most of the information from.

Have fun visiting everyone! ~Cerri xo

If you're local...

Lps_2008_2_337 Come by and see me this weekend at the Clinton antique festival. I have a booth at "As Time Goes By" and will be helping out there tomorrow. I'm excited, it's the first time I will be participating in the festival as a booth owner!

I've been taking lots of lovely things over there to make sure my booth is full. (I will take photos and show you)

These silhouettes are one thing I put together this week and I just love them!

I have shopped the antique festival in Clinton many times and it's often wonderful! The main street is blocked off and people come from all over to have booths set up, and all of the shop owners on the street fill up their shops too! It usually takes me all day to see everything! There is also LOTS of wonderful food vendors that set up in the square and sometimes live music as well! It is really a fun time.

So if you're local, be sure to stop in and say hello, will you?

As Time Goes By

370 Market St
Clinton, TN 37716

Have a wonderful weekend! ~Cerri xoxo

PS, Don't forget Show & Tell Sunday this week, the theme is to show us your favorite place you find your treasures! (antique shops, flea markets, thrift stores, etc) I know what I'll be showing you!

A new obsession

Lps_2008_2_331 As you probably already know, and as witnessed here with my second FULL vintage suitcase,  I have quite a thing for old trims. I adore the soft faded laces and trims of eras gone by.  I love to add them to just about every thing I ever create, I also love to wrap packages with them, and well, hoard them.

Lps_2008_2_211_2

But lately, I just can't seem to get enough of old crocheted trims! I scoop them up wherever I see them! I adore the beautiful faded colors and how sweet and tattered the edges are.

Lps_2008_2_210 I also love to think about the ladies that lovingly crocheted these pieces. What a labor of love to crochet the edges of pillow cases, tea towels, and other every day items to make them a little prettier!

My Gram has tried to teach me to crochet, but I just don't have the patience for it. Hopefully she can pass that along to one of my girls!

Lps_2008_2_209 These two pieces just stole my heart immediately with their soft pink shades!

Lps_2008_2_208 The details in this gorgeous old collar just made me melt! I have been wondering about the lady that wore this collar. Where do you think she wore it? To church? A tea party?

I think that is a huge part of the draw for me to collecting so many vintage things. I love to daydream about where they came from, and who owned them before me.

I hope you have a wonderful week. I will be posting some fabulous swap mail very soon.

Much love, Cerri xoxo

Show & Tell Reminder

Just a quick reminder that there is not a Show & Tell this week. Please join us next week to show us your favorite place you find your collections! (antique store, flea market, thrift store, etc) I can't wait to see where you shop! :0)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, Cerri xoxo

A day out, a fabulous shop, and show & tell

Lps_2008_2_183 One day last week I was able to get away for the day and spend the afternoon with my two favorite ladies. My Momma and my Grandma. (aren't they adorable?!) Whenever we can, we get away together and go out to lunch and spend the afternoon antiquing. We almost always go to the same place for lunch and shop at the same shops.

I thought I would start sharing with you some of my favorite antique shops from my area, you know, in case you are ever traveling through TN. :0)

Lps_2008_2_177 One of my very favorite shops is Cave Creek Antiques in Sweetwater, TN. It's just about 35 minutes from my house and closer to my Mom and Grandma. The owner of the shop is Kim and she  is the sweetest lady. I always enjoy chatting with her when I shop there. Her shop is very unique in that her husband built the whole thing for her!

Lps_2008_2_176 I always love the way she fluffs her shop and sets up the sweet vignettes. (Don't you just love the layers of old lace on the shelves?)

But I have to tell you, one of my very favorite things about her shop is her prices! Nothing is over priced and very often I find wonderful bargains there!

Lps_2008_2_178

Lps_2008_2_179 Another fun thing about Cave Creek Antiques is that they have several different styles of decorating everything from the white cottagey look above to more primitive. (I didn't really take photos of the primitive, sorry)

Lps_2008_2_180

Lps_2008_2_181 If you are ever in the area, you might just want to make a stop there. Tell her Cerri sent you. :0)

I'm working on getting all of your orders out (Thank you!!) and a couple of custom orders, and then I will be moving full force on getting things ready for my web boutique's grand opening! I have not quite picked a date yet, but it will be in May. I had a peek last night of the site and it's almost finished and just adorable!! I can't wait to show you all everything!

You're probably also wondering about Show & Tell Sunday, right? The next Show & Tell will be Sunday, May 4th. (both Analise and I are going to be out of town this Sunday the 27th, so there will not be a theme for this week) So I was thinking since you have a little extra time to get ready for the next show, why don't you show us your favorite antique shop, or flea market spot, thrift store, where ever you find all of your fabulous collections! You just may have to take a little field trip for this assignment. So there, I gave you an excuse to go shopping. (like you needed one, right?) :0)

Much love, Cerri xoxo

Show & Tell Sunday, Show us your vintage bling

Lps_2008_2_078 Welcome to another Show & Tell Sunday!

Analise and I are so excited so many of you are starting to join in for Show & Tell! It's wonderful to see everyone's collections and to meet so many new people! It feels good to know that there are so many wonderful ladies out there that collect and love the same things you do!

This weeks topic is among my very favorite things to collect and I am always on the look out for it. I'm picky though. I am picky about what my vintage jewels look like and I am picky about the price. Very rarely have I spent more than $5 on any single (or pair) of things you will see here! So, it is a real treasure hunt for me!

Lps_2008_2_308

Lps_2008_2_310 I have 2 vintage jewlery boxes that I use to store all of my vintage jewels that I use for projects. I adore these things and am always looking for more.

This one is actually huge! My Momma bought it for me for Christmas and it is my very favorite! Not only does it have the 2 trays that lift up, it also has 2 full drawers. I had trouble getting a good photo to show you all for layers to it, but it holds a whole lot of vintage bling!

Lps_2008_2_312 This is my other one, don't you just love the jewles against all of that sweet pink? :0)

I also keep more vintage jewels in some sweet vintage glasses placed around my studio. I forgot to photograph those for you though, so I may add them to the flickr group!

Lps_2008_2_316 I doubt I will ever use the rhinestone bird with the gold nest. I may just have to pin that to something in my studio. I found that in NYC last year at our favorite flea market there! It will always remind me of the first time I took my daughter to New York..

Here's your list, go check out everyone's vintage bling! It's going to be a fun Sunday!

I will continue to add links throughout the day, so if you don't see your name here, please just let me know, and be patient, I'll get it added. One other quick note, we will only be adding names of those that are actually showing the weeks topic. Names will be added throughout Sunday, but we will no longer add names after Sunday. (Sorry) So if you post on Monday, please add your link to the flickr site or in the comments here, believe me, just as many people are still reading on Monday, so no worries there! :0)

Analise and I are also looking into something that allows you to add your links to the post, and we will let you know as soon as we get that hooked up!

Thanks so much for playing along!

Bring On the Bling

2378873363_d8f30e13f1_o Thanks for another great week of Show & Tell! It's so fun to hop around and see all of your collections! I love visiting old friends and new blogs and looking at the things we love!  The next Show & Tell Sunday is April 20th, and it's my turn to host again, and the topic is vintage jewels!

Lps_2008_037

So show us your bling ladies! Show us all of those vintage jewels you collect, how your store them and what you do with them! I think this is one of my favorite things to collect and I can't wait to see what you have!

My sweet partner, Analise and I would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for topics to cover, and if you are ever interested in being a guest hostess, please just leave me a note or send me an email!

We may be doing just a few things different, and I will let you know if we do in fact make some changes, but in the mean time, get ready to show us your bling!

Have a fabulous week ladies! ~Cerri xoxo

PS. Don't forget the shop update tomorrow. I have lots of pretties to share!

Show & Tell Sunday, Vintage Hankie Love

Lps_2008_2_239_2 Welcome to another Sunday of Show &Tell! I am so happy Analise chose vintage hankies for this weeks theme as it forced me to dig around in my studio to uncover my little collection. I discovered several vintage hankies I had forgotten that I even had!

This one, however, I did not forget I think it is my very favorite. It is so delicate and sweet, with the darling little embroidery. You'll probably notice I seem to be drawn to the ones with embroidery. I had to wonder what sort of lady carried this ever so delicate little hankie.

Lps_2008_2_248 My collection of hankies is not really that large,  (nothing compared to my vintage millinery!) and unfortunately, I don't ever seem to use them. Mostly they were just tucked in drawers and hankie boxes in my studio. I have sometimes added them to a gift basket, but mostly, they just sit. I will be anxious to see what all of you ladies do with your collections!

Lps_2008_2_244

Lps_2008_2_241 I found this little sweetie on our recent road trip. Isn't it darling? Still in it's original box and those gorgeous little flowers were attached.

Lps_2008_2_246 I have a whole stack of these. I think I purchased them at the Nashville flea market for less than a dollar each! They are shear, worn, and well loved. I am sure they were tucked into a purse many times for Sunday church service.

Lps_2008_2_207 I think even more than vintage hankies, I seem to collect the hankie holders. I just adore these. This one is actually stunning, but it was hard to capture just how pretty it is.

Lps_2008_2_238 The white design on the blue hankie holder is actually flocked and another one of my very favorites!

Lps_2008_2_250 And of course, I also collect the vintage hankie boxes. These, I use, though! I store all sorts of things in them and I snap these up whenever I can find them in good shape for a good price!

I am going to post a few more photos to the Show & Tell flickr group too as this post is getting a little long and I am anxious to see everyone else's collections!

I will be sure to visit everyone at some point today, but first I also have to go visit my Dad for his birthday!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day, and thank you again for participating in our Show & Tell Sundays, it is so fun to see your collections!

Be sure to visit Analise for the list of everyone participating today, and check back with me tomorrow for next weeks theme!

Much love, Cerri xo
